HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT OFF-ROAD TIRE FOR YOU

So, you’re ready to upgrade your vehicle’s look by adding some large off-road tires, but you’re not really sure where to start. Don’t worry, we got you. There are three main types of off-road tires – all terrain, mud terrain, and hybrid terrain. Which one is right for you? Let’s break it down…

All Terrain Tires

First, all terrain tires. All terrain tires have a large look and they give you the comfortable ride on the road. They also give you solid traction on wet grass or other challenging terrains. Oh, and a bonus – a lot of the main brands of all terrain tires, they actually come with mileage warranties.

Some of our favorite All Terrain tires are:

  • TOYO OPEN COUNTRY A/T II
  • MASTERCRAFT COURSER AXT
  • NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER

Mud Terrain Tires

Next, up mud terrain tires. These tires have that aggressive look, that you might expect from an off-road tire. But, is there a tradeoff in ride. Well nothing’s really going to ride as smooth as a stock street tire or an all-terrain tire. But, with proper installation and balancing, you can get a smooth ride out of the mud terrain tire.

Some of our favorite Mud Terrain tires are:

  • TOYO OPEN COUNTRY M/T
  • NITTO TRAIL GRAPPLER M/T
  • FURY COUNTRY HUNTER M/T
  • COOPER DISCOVERER STT PRO

Hybrid Terrain Tires

And lastly, your hybrid terrain tires. You may have guessed from the name, but these tires are a mix of the previous two we just mentioned. This tire looks like a mud terrain, but it handles and rides like an all terrain tire. If you feel like you want that aggressive looking tire, but don’t want to compromise ride quality, tread life, or you just don’t want to sling rocks like a mud drain tire does…this may be the way to go.

Some of our favorite Hybrid Terrain tires are:

  • TOYO OPEN COUNTRY R/T
  • FURY COUNTRY HUNTER R/T
  • NITTO RIDGE GRAPPLER
